You can help us replace current pictures and videos with better ones. You may have discovered a new grip type altogether. Please send us your pictures and videos for use on this site, with your permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please keep in mind that we want articles to feature consistent pictures. We will likely not replace a single picture out of a dozen with yours, if it disrupts the continuity of the article. Try to send us an entire set of pictures and corresponding videos, of higher quality if possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With that said, know that most pictures and videos we currently use are of mediocre quality. Many articles are missing key pictures and videos. There is plenty of  room for improvement. You can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/weak-standard-grip\/\">Weak Standard Grip<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/the-idling-thumb-grip\/\">Idling Thumb<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/the-scissorhand-grip\/\">Scissorhand<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/the-righthand-rule-grip\/\">Righthand Rule<\/a> articles as models, for what we need. Here are what we generally need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>High quality images for both <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Marcosticks_Exagenerated-wide-open-vs-closed-range-standard-grip_IMG_7426-scaled-down.jpg\">open <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Marcosticks_Exagenerated-wide-open-vs-closed-range-standard-grip_IMG_7425-scaled-down.jpg\">posture<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Marcosticks_Exagenerated-wide-open-vs-closed-range-standard-grip_IMG_7426-scaled-down.jpg\">closed posture<\/a><\/strong>.  Shoot at least a few from the same angle as used in most alternative grip articles, so that we can easily show comparisons of grip types, side by side. Pictures from additional angles are useful if they illustrate peculiar aspects of this grip.<\/li><li>Quality videos of a user <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/User-12-mirrored-Scissorhand-Grip-Extension-1-normal-speed-IMG_3436_mirrored-602x586-15fps.gif\">snapping at the thin air with chopsticks<\/a><\/strong>. This demonstrates the full sequence of movements between the open posture and the closed posture. Capture videos at normal speed, as well as in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/User-12-mirrored-Scissorhand-Grip-Extension-1-slomo-IMG_3436_mirrored-480x467-10fps.gif\">slow-motion<\/a><\/strong>, if possible. Note that slow-motion captures usually require better lighting. Send raw video please. We can generate GIF clips as needed for articles. <\/li><li>Videos of a user <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/User32-Cupped-Vulcan-video-study-Sideway-swing-n-twist-back-Lemon-slices-slowmo-320x233-10fps.gif\">picking up a food item<\/a><\/strong>, in both normal speed and slow motion. These usually do not require strenuous compression or extension forces.<\/li><li>Slow motion videos of a user taking the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Closing-salad-tongs-with-inward-medium-compression-IMG_3374-320x217-15fps.gif\">salad tongs test<\/a><\/strong>, showing both <a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Closing-salad-tongs-with-inward-medium-compression-front-view-Idling-Thumb-Grip-slomo-IMG_7455-640x806-10fps.gif\">compression<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Opening-salad-tongs-with-outward-medium-compression-side-view-Idling-Thumb-Grip-slomo-IMG_7458-640x683-10fps.gif\">extension<\/a> struggles. These demonstrate the power of this grip.<\/li><li>If you discovered a new grip, <strong>suggest a name<\/strong> for it. Before you come up with a name, survey the current <a href=\"https:\/\/marcosticks.org\/family-tree-of-alternative-grips\/\">family tree<\/a> to get a sense of how we named grip types. Know that we name a grip by either its distinguishing mechanism, or by its resemblance to something in the world. The best way to send files is to use <a href=\"https:\/\/wetransfer.com\/\">https:\/\/wetransfer.com\/<\/a> or a similar service. WeTransfer does not require you to set up an account at all. Follow these simple steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Put all pictures and videos in one folder on your hard drive.<\/li><li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/wetransfer.com\/\">https:\/\/wetransfer.com\/<\/a>. Click on &#8220;Add Files&#8221;, and select the folder in the previous step.<\/li><li>Enter your own email address for both &#8220;Email To&#8221; and &#8220;Your Email&#8221;.
